Aoife O’Donovan performs America, Come and newly commissioned songs for chamber orchestra featuring The Westerlies, Brooklyn Youth Chorus (Dianne Berkun Menager, Artistic Director), Rob Burger, Alan Hampton, & Griffin Goldsmith, conducted by Eric Jacobsen
FreshGrass mainstay Aoife O’Donovan, who has graced the festival in more iterations than anyone — as a solo artist, with her bands Crooked Still and I’m With Her, as our Artist in Residence, with a FreshScores Commission, the list goes on — brings a remarkable and ambitious new project to the Hunter Center stage. She will perform her work for chamber orchestra and choir America, Come alongside 3 new songs, commissioned by the FreshGrass Foundation, with an extraordinary collection of collaborators.
The performance will be followed by an on-stage Q&A by WAMC Radio’s Sarah LaDuke.
