As an educator, I firmly believe in the inherent potential of every student, regardless of their age or background, to flourish as a musician and discover joy through music. My teaching approach is first and foremost guided by the desires and interests of my students. I believe that a teacher’s primary role is to nurture their students' artistic passions, helping each person develop into the musician they want to become. I strive to create a safe learning environment that allows students to feel free to be themselves, ask questions, and experiment. I seek to give every student a strong foundation in technique—always in the service of greater musical expression—and help each individual find their own way of learning and staying inspired. Whether your goal is to learn the Brahms Violin Concerto or play a fiddle tune with some friends, I am here to support and help facilitate your musical journey.

· Testimonials ·
“ Carson was my son's violin teacher for almost a year. At the time my son was 5 and 6 and Carson was so patient with him, so caring about how he was learning music, and just a wonderful human being all around. Carson has such a deep understanding of music and combine that with his care and patience with children and it was a wonderful match. He would still have been our violin teacher had it not been him moving away to grad school. I would recommend Carson again and again to anyone looking for a teacher.”

“I used to play violin as a kid for years, but it fell to the wayside as I got older. Carson has been amazing at helping me reacquaint myself with the instrument and coaching me through learning new songs. His talent, patience, and good humor has helped me rediscover my joy for playing violin!”
— Abigail Black (Student)
“Carson is a delightful Chamber music coach for all groups. He has insightful ways that help our quartet with complex passages or even simple sonorities we want to achieve. His patience, exquisite musical taste plus good humor make him a wonderful, masterful, Chamber music coach!”
— Cherie Gans (Student)
“I’ve had the good fortune to hear Carson perform the past few years in large concert halls, museum and recital venues. His musicality is always a special treat and leaves me with a feeling that music makes a difference in our lives. Then, last summer, he was my quartet coach. It was our groups first time to play together and Carson helped us relax to create a better outcome. His subtle suggestions were heard and applied. He had practical ideas for each of us and for the group as a whole. It was a bit like magic.”
— Julie Fulkerson (Student)
